A 32-year-old motorcyclist was arrested after hitting and causing the death of a seven-year-old boy in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Puerto Madero on January 23. The tragic event took place at night on Girardot Street, between Macacha Güemes and Villaflor, when the child was struck by a motorcycle traveling at high speed, which was ridden by two people who fled the scene without stopping.
After being hit, the boy was taken by his mother to Argerich Hospital, where unfortunately he passed away due to the severe injuries sustained in the accident. Thanks to the analysis of security cameras and the testimony of an eyewitness, it was determined that the motorcycle involved was a Kawasaki Z900, registered in the San Martín district.
After extensive investigations carried out by the DDI and the City Police, the address of the vehicle's owner was identified in the Villa Ballester neighborhood. Consequently, a surveillance operation was implemented at the address, which concluded with the arrest by the DDI in collaboration with City Police officers.
The motorcyclist was arrested and is expected to face legal consequences for his irresponsible actions that resulted in the tragic loss of a child's life.
